Shamrock Frosting Recipe

Since it's March, I wanted to share something that feels festive and deeply personal: Shamrock Frosting. When I was growing up, my mom and dad made yummy drinks with a peppermint liqueur that was famous among friends and family.

Their specialty drink was a Grasshopper: cool, minty, creamy, and just indulgent enough to feel special. I was always allowed the tiniest taste (which felt very grown up at the time), and it quickly became one of my favorite flavor memories.

That creamy mint indulgence stuck with me.

Years later, when creating a frosting that felt perfect for March celebrations - cupcakes, whoopie pies, even layered cakes - I kept coming back to that minty flavor profile.

And so, Shamrock Frosting was born. If you want that fun green colored frosting without the fake ingredients, add a ½ teaspoon of matcha powder to your frosting.
